💎 Meet Cute Presents: Gemstone Girls 💎
Mr. Pappas loves his daughters more than anything. That’s why he named them Amber, Pearl, and Emerald — because they’re precious gems.
But sometimes fatherly love can be a bit… overbearing. In this week’s Meet Cute stories, the Gemstone Girls each find the independence they’ve been craving — and meet someone special along the way.
Up first is Emerald, "Emmie" for short, who meets a familiar stranger during a night on the town...
Pop in your earbuds and play a little game of Secret Agents.
Pearl Pappas is delighted when she wins a spot at the Glass Lake Hotel writing residency. Plus the groundskeeper, Ryan, has a certain charm...
Take a tour of the old hotel in Meet Me At Midnight.
When tech company founder Amber Pappas meets tech journalist Leo Barbosa on an airplane, their conversation gets real real fast. It's not like they'll ever see each other again... right?
Find out if their secrets follow them to their final destination in The Tell-All.
Bonus story! Software developer Jake can't get over his ex Kaley. But when he creates a video game so that he can relive their relationship whenever he wants, the game's AI doesn't exactly approve.
See if Jake can make things work with Kaley IRL in The First Slice.

✏️ Writer’s Spotlight: The Lazours 📓
What inspired your Meet Cute, “Paula & The Visigoth”?
We've been thinking a lot about how long history is and the rise and fall of civilizations. The end of Rome, for Romans, must have felt like the end of the world. For a lot of us these days, I think apocalypse has been on the mind, so it was only natural to start thinking about how love could flourish amidst a cataclysmic event.
What was it like to write a rom-com for audio that couldn't be more than 15 minutes long?
Being theatre writers primarily, we're always thinking about how something will look onstage. Taking away that visual component was sort of like the dramatic writers' equivalent of a potato sack race--we didnt have all our limbs available to us! But that's what made it exciting. How vividly can you paint a picture through words alone?
What’s your favorite rom-com?
Patrick: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Daniel: Hitch (especially the Ellis Island scene!)
