What's a rom-com without a furry guest star? Here are five of our favorite pups from romantic comedies throughout the years.
Bruiser Woods, Legally Blonde (2001)
Elle’s beloved Chihuahua stole scenes in Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde. Bruiser was played with style and sass by star canine actress Moonie, who passed away in 2016 at the remarkable age of 18.
Baxter, Anchorman (2004)
Ron Burgundy’s multilingual Border Terrier Baxter had quite a storyline in 2004’s Anchorman. The little fuzzball survived a dramatic kick from a bridge, only to return and rescue the entire news team from a bear! He was played by Peanut, a rescue pup from the Los Angeles Animal Services East Valley Shelter.
Gertrude, Dog Days (2018)
There are plenty of unforgettable pups in 2018’s mega rom-com Dog Days, but Getrude stole our hearts. Vanessa Hudgens’s pint-sized side-kick was played by Priscilla the Princess, who impressed her human co-workers with how well-trained she was.
Hank, The Truth About Cats & Dogs (1996)
We couldn’t find much information online about the canine star of Janeane Garofalo’s love-triangle classic, but we respect any pup who knows how to roller skate.
Mother Teresa, Must Love Dogs (2005)
This unforgettable Newfoundland was played by two six-month-old puppies named Molly and Maeve! Director Gary David Goldberg adopted both puppies at the end of filming.
